Sterling hand hammered Arts & Crafts era cake server, retailed by McAuliffe Hadley Boston, c.1910

This is a beautiful example of American Arts & Crafts era silver. Hand hammered in design, the server has a nice gingko leaf shaped blade and great cutout design on the handle. The piece was retailed by McAuliffe & Hadley, a Boston shop that operated from approximately 1900-20, and used local artisans to supply them with silver pieces. The server is marked on the reverse handle MCAULIFFE & HADLEY BOSTON STERLING; see photo. The piece is substantial in weight.

The server measures 7 1/2 inches in length and is in excellent condition, with no dents, bending, wear or pitting.
