Pair of Gustave Lorey Sepia Photo Portraits, Albany Area, dated 1913 and 1914

This is such a wonderful pair of early 20th century photographic portraits of a young couple from the Albany area. The photographs are by Gustave Lorey (1868-1937), a well known photographer who had a studio in Albany; his work is in the collection of the Albany Institute of History & Art. Both portraits are wonderful, but we particularly like the woman’s portrait for her whimsical dress, with a beaded butterfly on the back. Plus, she’s sitting in a wonderful carved mahogany chair.

Both photographs are signed and dated; the man’s portrait is dated 1913 and the woman’s is dated 1914. They are very nicely framed in carved gilt frames.

Price is for the pair.
