Early American Stoneware Canteen

A very unique and rare early American or perhaps French stoneware canteen with applied grape and leaf decoration and braided leather strap. The canteen is just over 8 inches from top to bottom and 6 inches across the middle. Probably from the southern United States. The canteen body is a yellow stoneware fading to green at the top. A fee nicks around the spout but overall in great condition for its age. A wonderful primitive piece.
