19th C Shaker Mahogany Paneled Sewing/Trinket Box with Inlaid Escutcheon

A really great early-mid-19th century mahogany Shaker sewing or trinket box.  The box has mahogany and birch veneer in  darker and lighter shaded panels on the top, with a rich mahogany veneer on the sides.  The box is pine based and has a single board bottom.  The lining has been removed from the inside of the box.

The box has a keyhole with an diamond shaped ivory escutcheon.  It also has its original hinges.

This box is in good condition; there is one area of veneer loss on one of the side panels-see photo, and as noted, the original paper lining has been removed.  Otherwise, it’s in great shape, with no cracks.
